Lucia Mallardi, known as The SoccerActress (La CalciAttrice), is an Italian multidisciplinary artist who merges freestyle soccer, theatre, storytelling and dance into a unique and powerful form of performance art.
Her work is autobiographical, physical, and emotionally raw. Lucia uses the soccer ball not only as a symbol of discipline and power but as a living instrument of expression—blending movement, rhythm, and language to explore themes such as gender, identity, resilience, desire and dreams.
A former professional soccer player turned performer, she bridges the worlds of sport and art in ways rarely seen on stage or screen.
Her solo show, The SoccerActress (The FootballActress in the UK), has been selected for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 by C ARTS / C venues. She performed daily at C-aquila studio, located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, appearing as an emerging international artist. This experience also earned her a nomination for Best Actress from DarkChat.
She has also been selected by the United Solo Theatre Festival in New York City, the world’s largest solo show festival, where she performed on October 16, 2025, at the Off-Broadway Theatre Row complex.
The next dates for The SoccerActress will be in Australia at FRINGE WORLD Perth 2026, where she will perform at the Old Mill Theatre on January 24–25, 2026 at 5:30 pm, and on February 14, 2026 at 4:30pm. She will then continue at the Adelaide Fringe 2026, performing at Goodwood Theatre & Studios on the weekends of February 20–21–22, February 27–28, and on March 1, 2026 at 9:00 pm.
Beyond the theatre, Lucia also creates standalone performances combining freestyle soccer and dance—powerful, poetic, and visually striking acts designed for festivals, concerts, fashion events, and cultural happenings. These performances are available for booking as individual acts or as part of larger artistic collaborations.
Lucia speaks Italian, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, as well as some French and Greek and is actively seeking international partnerships with artists, musicians, and visionaries who want to challenge norms and tell stories that matter.
